Claudia Gersten, Nurse Midwife
Claudia is a licensed OB/GYN nurse practitioner and a family nurse practitioner besides being American College of Midwives certified. She received her undergraduate degree from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York and her graduate and post-graduate degrees from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Long Island.
She is excited to return to the practice of midwifery with a commitment to promoting the midwifery aspect of obstetrical care. She was indispensible in the development and setup of North Country Obstetrics & Gynecology and her daily responsibilities are as Director of Clinical Services.
Claudia is committed to the greater Glens Falls area, having grown up and raised her own family here. She has served this community for over 20 years as a full scope midwife, delivering thousands of babies.
Professional Highlights – She delights in her role as a nurse practitioner and has a special interest in primary care for women, as well as obstetrics, gynecology and midwifery. She is specialty-trained in surgical assisting and, over the past several years, has had a critical role in developing programs aimed at improving the health of women.
With a Masters in Perinatal Women’s Health, Claudia has also developed deep expertise in premenstrual syndrome, peri menopause and menopausal human hormone therapy offering therapeutic consultation and care in these specialties.
She has also served on numerous medical boards and has traveled to Guatemala with the Glens Falls Medical Mission to provide care to those in need.
Personnel Passions – Raising two sons, Ryan and Carey, has made Claudia a busy, but proud mom. When time allows, Claudia loves to travel, meet new people and become familiar with other cultures and outlooks on life.
